Tried number 1, you're right, it doesn't seem to care.

Subject: MI-L Alter Menu Item Questions

Two quick questions:

1. In MapBasic, why doesn't
Alter Menu Item ID 101 Text "New Command Name"
throw an error if you have not defined a menu item with an ID of 101?

2. You can alter menu items from other mbx programs if the mbx program knows
the menu item id and uses the "alter menu item id..." syntax. But can you
add menu items to a custom mbx menu tree from an outside mbx program? (You
can't define a custom menu with an id, it seems.)

IF anyone knows the answers to either of these problems, I'd like some help
on this. Thanks!
