Morning all

Unfortunately I have access dataset has been modified by others without
regard to the mapping component. Now when I try to open the mapping
front-end this error message is displayed.

"Microsoft Access Error: Microsoft jet database engine could not find
object 'floodgate maintenance protocols' . make sure the object exists and
that you spell its name and path correctly. Unable to open table
   floodgate_maintenance_protocol."

   1) Is there away to fool mapinfo into opening a map table without the
dbase back end but preserving the X/Y info
   2) Is there a way of striping the x,y data from the tab/dat/map/id files

Ps part of the modification/destruction of the dbase is the removal of the
easting / northing fields... the addition of new fields, the change of
   dbase name and table name.

Any suggestion would be welcome... and please make it simple - as the
dbase operator who's fixing this hasn't had any experience with
   mapping.....
