I'm working on a Turkish project for which I've been using the projection
UTM ED50, Zone 36.

However, my tables are all re-setting themselves from this UTM ED50
projection (ED50 in the top drop-down menu, Zone 36 in the lower option) to
Turkish Coordinate Systems (ED50) Zone 33. This means that points I create
using eastings and northings aren't displaying at those values, but are
offset by some 30km to the west of where they should be.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

I realise that I could set the Turkish projection as the base table
projection (although I'm not currently sure that is the correct projection,
as I was told by my client it's European ED50, Zone 36), but why would
MapInfo assume it's a different projection to the one I set?

Thanks in advance
Caroline
