Hi Blair
We looked at an eval copy of Imagine over xmas, very impressed we suggested
to Erdas with out fuller support for our Mapinfo stuff it's uses were very
limited and we would remain one customer less for them. They responded
positively by recognising the problem and saying although under some
pressure from ESRI they intended to update a version later this year with
better MI support.
The guys at Erdas UK felyt it was much a customer thing and if enough
customers asked them it would shift up in priority. A past note to this
list from me indicated that there are a lot of MI users out there who would
like to see this link.
After considerable work with Erdas UK it is apparent your only real options
are if you can export your end data out as arc coverage or shape.
Alternatively you can create USGS DEM's which could be of use if you have
verticle mapper, but we gave up for novuces with only a small number of
tasks it was all too much.
You may wish to hang in there and upgrade if it happens
regards
Adrian Walls
