The NT scheduler is strange product - it's user interface is very primitive
(a command prompt), but on the other hand, it's a stable and usable tool.

First you will need to start the scheduler service (in the services section
in the control panel) and set it to start automaticly.

If you are going to use ressources outside the local machine (net drives
etc.), you must also change the security content for the scheduler service
(the user, but do it only if you need it and only with a good and safe
password)

At last you can schedule your task's with a AT command at the command prompt
(there is a primitive graphic utillity in one of the NT ressource kits, but
I'm only using it to a quick check of the scehduled tasks - type AT /? to
get a short summary).

We are using this simple solution for most of our web maintance and GIS
copying (I have one folder where we are editing and another (readonly)
folder for general use) and it's woorking very stable.

There is an other alternative, if you has SQL server and it's to use the SQL
server scheduler
