Where's the MrSID plugin for MapInfo?
Both MI and Lizardtech have announced it for some time now, always said
to be available shortly.
It seems as their definition of 'shortly' and mine vary considerably.
For those that do not know what MrSID is: Find out!
This guy may well set a new standard for the use of raster imagery in
GIS.

The MrSID Viewer, (free at: http://www.lizardtech.com/) does allow you to
extract images as TIF with a TFW geo-reference file, which can then be
automatically registered and used in MapInfo with WorldReg.mbx. I realize
this does not provide for the direct use of the extensive compression offered
by the MrSID format, however it does offer a means to view imagery from a
MrSID format within MapInfo today.
I am waiting for the MrSID raster handler as well and plan to add support for
the MrSID world file (.SDW) to WorldReg.
