Dane, I just updated the Quantumnik Wiki with a Downloading Mapnik section. Have a look and tell me if you approve.
Oh by the way....LOVE QUANTUMNIK...perhaps the biggest advance in open source GIS in a while. I did a little survey on LinkedIn a while back about who uses OSGeo and I got a lot of comments about the poor CARTOGRAPHIC performance of OS Desktop GIS... I think this goes a long way toward bridging the gap.
