Hello Mapnik dev team, I am an Electrical Engineering student and I am very interested in joining your team this summer. I have always been interested in computer graphics and am really hoping to work on the Layer Compositing project his summer. I have plenty of experience in C++, some basic experience using Python(2.5), but even though I've spend countless hours using Photoshop and Corel Draw/PhotoPaint, I have never worked with programming computer graphics before. I understand matrix mathematics and have the general idea about how they would be used in computer graphics. I've just compiled mapnik2 (asked around, found there's a whole new codebase :-) ), and after some struggling I've successfully run the demo.
