Hi all, We at the State of the Map organising team have finally came up with a schedule for it. Pending some confirmations and small changes, it will be published on Monday.
I'm writing to both the mapnik and the openaerialmap lists in order to announce the worksh^H^H^H^H^H^H Birds of a Feather sessions. Basically, while all the suits are in the conference venue talking about business models and such, the BoF sessions will be hosted in the university computer labs. What's a BoF? Basically it's an meeting with no defined goal or schedule. I do hope that you will discuss Mapnik symbolizers and kick-start OAM, and even hack some code, but what happens in the end will depend on the people at the BoF. The BoFs will span over 8 hours on Friday. How these 8 hours are distributed among Mapnik and OAM is up to both groups. 4+4 hours, or 2+2+2+2 hours, or whatever. You might ask "why on Friday when everyone's at the SotM?". Well, the alternative is to set up the BoFs at thursday, forcing everyone come a day earlier. Anyway, if anyone prefers to host the BoFs on thursday, *now* is the time to say so. I do look forward to see you in Girona at the SotM.
