My use case is to produce georeferenced binary masks from shapefiles
using mapnik rasterization capabilities in a library where it is already
used to perform classic map rendering.
I know that this context is anecdotal but an access to this level of
rendering parametrization should be interesting.
I created a feature request ticket, thanks for your answers!

Aurelien.

Also, would be great to know more about your usecase - why no antialiasing?
I don't know Aurelien's use case, but I could imagine using this for a
contour line overlay where it might be quicker to patch the headers of
PNG files instead of re-rendering the tiles if you just want to change
the line color. Due to mix colors, this wouldn't work well with
antialiasing.
Actually, you might use that to filter out, say, 20-meter contours out
of tiles showing both 20-meter and 100-meter contours (if the two line
types use distinct colors). Admittely, this a bit of a constructed
case :)
Ya, it was re-classing of polygons (based on color) which was one of the
reasons I added gamma to the polygon symbolizers.
Cheers
Colin
