Mapnik users, I'm trying to build some maps with ShiledSymbolizer but I had no success with allow_overlap, label_spacing and minimum_distance properties.
After many tests, I found the problem. Some of my lines have "U turns", ie, it returns close than itself, and, in this case, the properties minimum_distance and allow_overlap are not used and one Shield could overlap another. Somebody had the same problem? Is there any way to solve this issue and make that's properties work with Shields of the same line? The only solution that I found was change the source code, but I will send this in the mapnik-devel list.
