Thanks Luca. Just to confirm. I am using proj4 python wrapper for
transforming the coatline geometries to osm geometries.

So I am using sourceProjection as spherical mercator (espg: 3857) and then
the destination mercator EPSG:900913 encoded as +proj=merc +a=6378137
+b=6378137 +lat_ts=0.0 +lon_0=0.0 +x_0=0.0 +y_0=0 +k=1.0 +units=m
+nadgrids=@null +no_defs.

This should work I guess. Thanks!
