What mechanisms exist in Mapnik 2.0.0 to prevent crowding labels too
closely together? This image below illustrates the issue well: too many
labels which fall too closely together.

I see "spacing" and "minimum_distance" The latter seems to be only for
duplicate labels, the first seems to have no effect at all in my case.
