Follow-up Comment #1:
IIRC, the new index code of OCitySMap2 no longer needs to create GIS tables
during rendering. As soon as the new version of MapOSMatic is released, we'll
be able to use a read-only access to the GIS database (which has now been
properly separated, code-wise, from the other database used by MapOSMatic).
