Well, not sure what's wrong with my test case... but I'm just unable to get the loadparams() method working in MapServer 5.4.2/5.6.5. It seems to crash without any exception. I see nothing in my debug file neither. The http request returns no data.
Everything works like a charm using MapServer-dev, GET params and POST params.
