Dave,

I've had good success rendering DGN files referenced in a TILEINDEX(http://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/mapserver-users/2010-December/067444.html).

Try adding ".shp" to the end of your TILEINDEX:


TILEINDEX "index_dg.shp"

as OGR handles the files differently than Mapserver's native shapefilemechanism.

      CONNECTIONTYPE OGR

in the Layer Tag, then the error is
