We are currently running a number of (several hundred) WMS services on a single server using CGI. Each service is configure using its own mapfile with corresponding CGI script. All services are pulling source data from PostGIS tables. In this type of use does it make sense to use fastcgi and are there any dangers - high memory usage, multiple open PG connections?
