[UMN_MAPSERVER-USERS] Mapscript with .MAP files

Is it possible to load for example in my case MapInfo files without first
having to load a .MAP file ?

I am writing a java servlet where I want to load directly a MI file and
query that but I cannot seem to find the write methodology..
