We have already implemented in-house development version where you
can translate the units. I won't make any promises of when this
version will hit the streets.

Regarding the datums, from what I can gather the two datums are
really UTM datums with two differrent ellipsoids:

SAD-69 datum = UTM with the GRS67 Ellipsoid
Collego Alegre datum = UTM zone 23 or 24 with the International 1924 ellipsoid

So in some sense Maptitude has already support for these two
datums. If you have a database and want to see the units for the
SAD-69 datum while hovering over the map with a tool such as the
zoom-tool, you can set the map projection to UTM with the GRS67
ellipsoid and your favorite unit (meters?).

If, however, you have databases where one has lon-lat based on the
SAD-69 datum, and another database has lon-lat based on the Collego
Alegre datum, you have a problem.

In two different datums, the same longitude and latitude means two
different things. Maptitude treats all lon-lat coordinates the
same, regardless of their source. You can use any of the hundreds
of projections to display them, but if you have two layers in your
map which have lon-lats based on different datums, they will not
line up.

As of now, the only workaround for this is to use a third party
software to convert your databases to a single, consistent datum.
The only datum conversion that Maptitude offers is between NAD27,
NAD83 and NAD83hp (high precision).

We have looked at various solutions for datum conversions, but we
haven't incorporated any solution yet.
