Notice that only one of the tools to the upper-right of the map will be
depressed. When you click on a tool to choose it, it is depressed. The
default tool is Zoom In. Click on another tool, and that becomes the active
tool.
Notice, by the way, in the page URL displayed when you get the new map, the
"command=" argument indicates the action that was carried out, such as
"zmin" to zoom in or "SW" to pan southwest. Your browser communicates with
the web server via the page URL, and the web server send it on to Maptitude
for the Web, acting as the web map server, to carry out the command and
send back HTML and graphics (PNG, or JPEG for older browsers) to your browser.
>it would be handy if there were a way to pan the map, other than zooming out
>and then back in
Use the compass of arrows at the upper left corner of the map! You can also
change the scale around the current map center by clicking on the lines
between the world graphic (smallest scale) and the streets graphic (largest
scale), in the frame that contains the map width.
By the way, my apologies to Margie for starting this thread with an
incorrect subject!
