Is this one record at a time, > multiple records or what? > Thanks, > Kevin Byrnes i have XMap because it sounded nifty, but i haven't actually used it. i want to put some data into the program so that generic users in the office can find it without asking me to make a map... unlike other delorme products, XMap comes with a real user manual. according to the manual, under the "exporting data" heading, item 3 "... if you want to limit which records of the dataset are displayed in the table, select one of the options from the table display drop-down." item 5 gives the file format options as dataset (.dds) and text (.txt). on "downloading additional data" it says you can go online to download "additional data for your XMap Business datasets. Acxiom, DeLorme's current DataPlus provider, offers comprehensive consumer, business, property, and telephone data that you can download for a fee." note: you must agree to terms and set up an account, which could take up to 3 days. on a page about how to search for business listings it says there is a field that "indicates whether or not the person/business has requested that they not be solicited" "if more than 500 listings are found in the search, you can click the "more" icon to display the additional listings. note: clicking the more icon replaces the current listings with the additional listings. if you want ot copy the current search results to the XData tab as a dataset, be sure to do so before clicking the more icon." it says that XMap works with GPS too. i'll have to look at it again. bob ______________________________________________________________________ To unsubscribe, write to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
