Maptitude - http://research.umbc.edu/~roswell/maptitude.html

All:

I exhibited and presented for Caliper at the Association of American
Geographers Conference in New York City last week. It attracted thousands
of academic and other geographers from around the U.S. and the world; I
talked to people from Europe, Australia, and elsewhere. We were among the
few software vendors exhibiting. ESRI was there, of course, and lots of
textbook publishers and government agencies.

Lots of professors stopped by. Some complimented us on how easy it is to
use Maptitude to teach introductory GIS, and others prefer it for its
cartographic capabilities. Many we grappling with ESRI sites licenses,
wanting to teach with a variety of products to give their students a more
well-rounded education.

There was a lot of interest in Maptitude for Redistricting (those brochures
were the first to run out), and in Maptitude for the Web. I gave a talk
Friday afternoon on Maptitude for the Web, giving an overview of how to use
a Mapplication to create a web mapping app, then showing four different web
mapping sites. The session was on mapping on the Internet, but mine was the
only presentation to show actual web mapping sites!

The talk was well received. This is a good conference for us to go to,
because the educators especially are interested in finding the best methods
to teach geography, and a tool like Maptitude is very attractive.
