Batchmates:

Peace to you all in Christ Jesus Name! I just want to update you of what
transpired last Saturday.

We had a handful of batch mates who arrived in Marist. We started
our day with sharing of some video and pictures about common unsafe practices
that most of us are also guilty of ie. No seatbelt, working at heights, lack of
intervention and many others. We then proceeded with Louie’s expertise…disaster
readiness. We were taught how to respond to injured/wounded person, basics of
firefighting (some marist students boy scouts joined us), emergency “baskets”
– things that you must have at all times in your house, immediate
response/reaction
during and after earthquake and CPR. These are just for awareness session and
not for certification hence it was a half day workshop only. Please let us
thank Louie and his team for doing this workshop for our batch for free. All of
us who joined that event really learned a lot from Louie’s team! Good
that Nelson Tan didn’t volunteer himself as the CPR victim otherwise
Cromwell could have let him have a taste of itJ

Our hope for this event and for future ones is to create  a
safer environment for people around us and hopefully this can start from our
batch. In return we need to influence other people to also embrace this kind of
culture. We can start from our own circle of influence to do this especially to
the schools where our children are studying. This is just the beginning and the
activities we had last weekend only indicate that we in batch 1990 are gearing
up for a more meaningful cause for our society.

We also discussed activities for our batch this year and the years
to come. Heads up to all of you that we will have a MEGA batch reunion this
year in view of our 20th year alumni anniversary (this will be
headed by Darwin M. Also, Kiko M. will send a poll through Facebook as to your
preferred date for our MEGA batch reunion. Please cast your vote there). During
that event, we want to present to the batch our plans for our upcoming 25th
year anniversary (ie. Fund raising, community outreach services, etc)

For our batch mates who can read this but are in abroad…please
make your presence be felt also by giving your thoughts to this email or
through our FB discussions. Although you may be physically “constrained’
to help us here, your wisdom and financial support will definitely be
appreciated by our stakeholders and will go a long way for our cause.

As we all grow old (mature na lang) and gain wisdom from Above, we
hope that we can give more of ourselves unselfishly to others so that we can
build this nation and let our children enjoy the fruits of our labor. Please
support the officers of our batch, headed by Tommy Pacleb, for all the
activities to come.

We will definitely keep you all posted of our batch activities.

God bless you all my fellow batch mates.

Kind Regards,
