I will start of with an example of what I would like to be able to write in Markdown.
--- This is a dummy paragraph, it would of course be longer than this. This is just another dummy paragraph; however, after it comes some pictures of my cat. http://www.example.com/pictureofmycat1.jpg http://www.example.com/pictureofmycat2.jpg http://www.example.com/animatedpictureofmycat.gif That was nice. Here is an audio recording of my dog barking: http://www.example.com/dogbark.mp3 And finally here is a video of my two pets being cuddly: http://www.example.com/dogandcat.mp4 --- I think it’s clear that the output I am suggesting for this would be something along these lines:
This is a dummy paragraph, it would of course be longer than this.

This is just another dummy paragraph; however, after it comes some pictures of my cat.

That was nice. Furthermore it downgrades quite nicely. There are of course problems it does not solve and extra complexity it would introduce; however, I thought I’d write this short email to see if anyone would be interested in discussing the idea.
