I'm talking to Sara Crouse on Friday about the grants that Wikimedia has recently received and how the process worked.
- You can see the Ford Foundation grant here.http://wikimediafoundation.org/wiki/Press_releases/Wikimedia_Ford_Foundation_Grant_July_2009 - I also have their grant proposal to the Hewlett Foundation if you are interested in seeing it. I think these are great examples that we can use when writing our own grants for the GNOME Foundation. I'm going to be asking Sara things like: - how did you identify the Ford Foundation and the Hewlett Foundation? - did you know anybody there or talk to anybody before you submitted your grant proposal? - can you share the proposal itself as an example for those of us that haven't written one? If not, how long was it, how detailed was it, how specific? - how long did the process take? was there a lot of back and forth? - how does the management of the grant work now? Is someone from the Ford Foundation working with you? If you have any other questions you'd like me to raise, let me know. Best, Stormy
