I was thinking of Azure as a PaaS sitting on top of ACS-managed infrastructure.
I haven't tried this yet, but it *seems* possible… On Nov 20, 2013, at 2:12 PM, Geralyn Miller <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: John--So, what do you mean by an "Azure cloud powered by ACS"? Are you referring to the IaaS capability of Azure, so basically bringing up ACS in a Linux VM running in Azure? -----Original Message----- From: Musayev, Ilya [mailto:[email protected]<http://webmd.net>] Sent: Tuesday, November 19, 2013 8:33 AM To: John Kinsella; <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Subject: RE: CloudStack MS on Windows - thoughts? Azure PR - would be way to fun, the only caveat, I had a friend who worked for Azure and hence I'm strong believer if you mix Azure and ACS, its actually going to do more harm than good. -----Original Message----- From: John Kinsella [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, November 19, 2013 11:11 AM To: <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>>; Musayev, Ilya Subject: Re: CloudStack MS on Windows - thoughts? Seems easy enough to me (at first glance) altho SystemCenter already supports Xenserver (supposedly - can't say I've run it) Another fun PR stunt would be an Azure cloud powered by ACS. It's on my radar, but probably won't try until some time in Q1. Why not offer a Windows build as convinience? We are going to take Windows market share that is afraid of Linux command line (that's still a very significant population outside of bay area). I know for certain OS or Euca do not run on Windows. This maybe our advantage we can use as marketing and get many more people on board. Any thoughts on marketing? I will be asking this on dev.
