Andre, nice work. I liked all logos with monkey in blue colour: #4, #5, #6, #7, #8
If we want to have the project name in the logo: #6 (blue) and #8 (blue) were the best. One more variation we can have is to have #6 but drop the tagline; and split apache cloudstack, like how about this: https://twitter.com/rhtyd/status/730996417062309889 Regards, Rohit Yadav On May 12 2016, at 2:33 pm, Walter, André <[email protected]> wrote: Hello to all, Sorry for the miss out, our security rules were too strong ;-). But finally we have put together some proposals and I personally like the idea with the “stamp “ (option 5 or 6) best. So you can stamp your homepage or any other Marketing Material with “powered by ACS”. And we can easily include the proposal of Giles and replace the slogan “powered by” with "supporter of" or "contributor to" Kindly have a look at following URL http://poweredbycloudstack.bitcloud.cloud/ and we are looking forward for your comments and feedback. But as ilya says, we don't have to stick with that design - it's not obligatory Maybe best to come up with some ideas and post a link here Also : I've always thought that it would be good to give some options that are not just "powers by" A few with words like "supporter of" and "contributor to" would be great Kind Regards Giles D: +44 20 3603 0541 | M: +44 796 111 2055 [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> <image004.png><http://www.shapeblue.com> Giles Sirett CEO , ShapeBlue d: +44 20 3603 0541 | s: +44 203 603 0540 | m: +44 7961112055 e: [email protected] | t: <mailto:[email protected]%20%7C%20t:> | w: www.shapeblue.com<http://www.shapeblue..com> a: 53 Chandos Place, Covent Garden London WC2N 4HS UK <image003.png> Shape Blue Ltd is a company incorporated in England & Wales. To that end, we have an existing "Powered By Apache" campaign that can be used generally or specifically with certain Apache projects. Please see http://apache.org/foundation/press/kit/#poweredby Again, given that our launch was just 26 hours ago, the icon for Apache CloudStack on file is the old one, but still very much valid. I am working for BIT.Group GmbH and heading the area called “Cloud Services”. There we are delivering Infrastructure Management Services to big customers (mainly SAP) with a clear focus on open source technologies. That means we do classical IT outsourcing specialized on implementing and operating virtualization and OS layer with Experts / Administrators in Germany (Dresden) and China (Shanghai). Giving this background we started last year to build up an own “BIT.Cloud” and decided to use Apache Cloud Stack and Ceph as focus technologies. Our experiences with ACS are really good (clearly we find the one or the other optimization potential ;-)), we had great interactions in the community already and we decided to deepen our involvement. So hopefully you will hear now inputs from our side quite more often and we especially want to increase the CloudStack presence in the German speaking area. What we currently miss is a kind of “supported by ACS” logo, because we want to publish our Cloud offering with a clear statement of our focus technologies. I heart that there were already discussions in the past, but somehow it did not come to an end. Do you also see the need or in general would you support the initiative to get such a logo? In case most of you answer the question with yes, I see following main questions: • Would you use the cloud stack (word), the monkey logo or the combination of both? • Are there any legal restrictions which we have to consider (e.g. does somebody has to approve this from ASF side?) • Do you know why the initiative in the past did not succeed? • Did someone in the past already created some drafts or similar? • In case we have some logo proposals clearly some will like it and some won’t. Will we start a voting procedure or how does this work usually? Please excuse this maybe stupid questions, but as I initially wrote, I am quite new to this ☺. My wish would be, that everybody can use such a “supported by” logo in case he wants to and I would offer to engage our designer, to prepare some design proposals and share the results with you. I am looking forward for a fruitful discussion and your feedback. Thanks and best regards.
