With Ubuntu, I have to use the Terminal to install LO with the "dpkg -i
*.deb" command, since it will not install correctly any other way. I do
not know how to get all the files to install via Dolphin or other file
manager. I just get "dependencies" not installed type of errors.
Maybe your OS with KDE[?] will do it, but the last time I tried, it
would not with Ubuntu.
It is so simple to just un-archive the downloaded file and use the dpkg
command on the set of DEB files.
That's strange. You would think that it would work. I usually start a
root-Dolphin instance from console but with:
$ su -
$ (root password)
$ dolphin
This starts a root-Dolphin instance and from there on I just do all of
the work from the right-click menu options. Once all of the file folders
are un-archived, I loop all of the .rpm files and choose "install" and
the installer takes care of the rest as well as dependencies if needed.
Yup, all KDE.
Cheers,
Marc
