Another widely-used icon went through these same arguments. (see: http://www.feedicon.com)

I suggest we adopt similar guidelines.

See: http://hecker.org/mozilla/feed-icon-faq for a decent summary of that discussion.

I had proposed guidelines back in November, but we were still too knee deep in IPR issues to visit them.

They are here:

It should be updated, since the new logo has been proposed, but the gist of it is: don't alter the shape, it's okay to change the color as necessary.

It would be nice to come to an agreement so that we can post it and the community can start using it.

Dear Randy and all,

Several requests were made to adapt the OpenID logo and I see often websites (and OP) that use OpenID logo but with others colors and recently we have talked about create a special logo to the Members.

I think that the powerful Marketing solution will be to use always the same logo but with adaptabilities possible as needed ; Communities, Countries, Members, special projects, Events…

I propose this dratf logo: http://www.snorrigiorgetti.fr/ OpenID_Logo_Draft.pdf

Please Randy = be lenient with me, I did it last night in the flight during turbulences ;-)

What do you think about the idea to have a policy to adapt the OpenID logo?

Cheers
