CSIRO (Australia's government scientific research body) is seeking to appoint a Software Engineer to join the Computational Modelling Group in Melbourne. The position is primarily C++ Qt application development with other main responsibilities being software release management and direct interaction with end users in a support role. Strong GUI development skills and a solid understanding of object-oriented design are essential.
The role offers significant potential for exercising a wide range of skills. It offers responsibility for all stages of product development, from design right through to delivery. Our development processes are flexible and can be adapted to what works best for achieving the best outcome. A taste for learning new things and a tendency toward exploring new technologies will also prove valuable in the role. We make use of very recent Qt versions and work across Windows and Linux platforms interchangeably. If you've got experience using Squish for testing Qt GUI applications, all the better.
