Accredited MMO Training Course | 27-28 June 2022| Devon, UK On 27-28 June 2022, Seiche is running a comprehensive two-day course from their UK office in Okehampton, Devon, specifically aimed at those aspiring to a career in marine mammal observation (MMO). Accredited by Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) the course will give delegates a thorough insight into life offshore, the practicalities of the role and preparation for those embarking on a career as a MMO. A mixture of classroom and practical boat sessions are delivered by their approved trainer who has over 10 years' MMO and marine mammal experience. The course starts in the classroom with a look at what exactly an MMO does, exploring: how noise impacts marine mammals; the legislative landscape; record-keeping; reporting requirements; and mitigation measures. Then delegates put the theory straight into practice by boarding a vessel and getting a real insight into life offshore.
