I also observe this, interestingly, only with QEMU without ptlsim, memory usage
is not high. This, perhaps, happens during switching to ptlsim simulation mode.

Subject: [marss86-devel] huge memory usage when using qemu-0.14 with
cache=unsafe

Hello Avadh,

When using qemu-0.14 branch, cache=unsafe or cache=writeback restores
checkpoint fast, but also uses a lot of memory (~9 GB) when switched to
simulation. Is there a way to reduce memory usage? Not using cache=unsafe
option uses around 1 GB memory.

Thanks,

Mu-Tien
