We started to look into it, but like you said there are a lot of changes between the version we have and the latest version.
Unfortunately right now there are only 2 of us actively working on MARSS and we haven't had a chance to work on new features for awhile now. We will need some of the features in the newest version of QEMU for our own work soon, so eventually we should have a more up to date version integrated.
