Hi All

I have some problems installing MARSS

When I tried to compile MARSS using command below

$ scons -Q debug=1

It gave me an error of

  File marss/config_helper.py", line 63
    with open(config_filename, 'w') as config_file:

            ^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
It seems that I have a problem with my Python version.

Here is my condition :

I am not a super user of my system and If you don't have privileges to
install any software in the system.
The system uses Python2.4.x.

However, I installed Python 2.7.2 locally in my $HOME,
meaning that I'm putting alias as

alias python='~/Python-2.7.2/bin/
python2.7'

so that every time i run $python it will refer to the 2.7.2 version.

However, i still couldn't get MARSS installed correctly in my environment.
I'm assuming that there might be some Marss config file that instructs
my system to take $python from its original PATH instead my updated python PATH.

Does anyone know where the installation config file is and how I
can change that ?

Or is there any other way to install MARSS without being a super user
or having no privileges to update python ?

Your kind help will be very much appreciated.
Thank you,
Best,
Masri
