Hi Pallavi,
this still seems to be some sort of weird environment problem.
try to dowload

ftp -a ftp.ebi.ac.uk:pub/software/biomart/martj_current/martj-bin-jre- linux.tgz .

(if you run on linux)

or

ftp -a ftp.ebi.ac.uk:pub/software/biomart/martj_current/martj-bin-jre- windows.zip .

(if you are on windows)

they come with their own jre

see if this fixes the problem
a.

Pallavi

Dear Pallavi
I assume that you get the exceptions, and keep getting them as you click
anywhere on the martExplorer interface-right. try getting Java by Sun,
and set the $path accordingly.
e.g if your java lives in usr/local/java/bin, you can use the following
from terminal,
set path=(/usr/local/java/bin $path)
rehash

and hopefully, that would work.
Cheers
Syed
