just to make sure :) do you mean no changes are shown when you restart the 
web server or when you import the XML back into MartEditor. If its just 
the former are you definitely deleting the cache (conf/martconf.packed) 
before you restart the server? You probably mean no changes are seen in 
MartEditor but just wante to check
