I used cvs to get it as per the instruction on the ensembl website:
"cvs -d :pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/biomart co -r release-0_5
biomart-perl".

I don't recall doing a compile though... Unless you mean compile as in "perl
bin/configure.pl -r conf/martRegistry.xml" ??

Hi Robert,
Damian meant 'martj' not 'biomart-perl'.
MartEditor app is part of martj

if you want cvs source you can get it from

cvs -d :pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/biomart co -r release-0_5 martj

Thanks for such a quick reply!
A text field is unfortunetly not an option.
We could possibly divide it by logical group using 3 or 4 drop down
list, but we cant have more then one drop down list associated with
the same field.
It would really make our lives easier to have the limit removed for
our installation.

do you have a cvs checkout that you ant compiled or do you have the tar.gz distribution from the website? If its the former I can just tell you which
file to edit and you recompile.

cheers

MartEditor "Make Drop down" limited to ~250 entries

I'm trying to build a new biomart filter with a drop down menu that

yes - there is a hardcoded limit as we were running into usability
options with massive chromosome menu drop downs for some species. The
best thing we always found was to change these filters to be simple
textfield ones.
Would this be an option for you? Otherwise I can try and help you up
the hardcoded limit to get all your 500 odd entries

best wishes
Damian

Is there a hardcoded limit for drop down menus?

Thanks
