Hi Arek,

The biomart is now live here: biomart.mcw.edu

This is being developed by the MCW proteomics center in collaboration with RGD. For now we have RGD Genes and RGD Microsatellite data available, the IPI Rat and IPI Unigene will be along shortly. I look forward to seeing the info on 0.6

Cheers,

        Simon.

Hi Arek,

Just to keep you in the loop - we're hoping to get our Biomart fully public this week. Its actually online already (biomart.mcw.edu) but not quite ready for primetime so hold off from announcing it to the world until I give you the go ahead. We're running 0.4 at the moment because we had all our stuff built on 0.4 before 0.5 emerged and I find the user interface of 0.4 a little more intuitive for users - it leads them through the various steps better than 0.5's ajax interface. I think in due course we'll upgrade but for now we're going with 0.4 for the first release.

sure, makes sense to me. just give me a shout when you are ready and we can discuss the details :)

We'll be putting out some other biomarts in the coming weeks once our original two RGD datasets go out - rat IPI and Rat unigene.

excellent

These are handy for us to have a cross reference datasets for different IDs that people may want to use to query RGD. Do you know how progress is going on a Uniprot Biomart? Having their data up to date in Biomart would be really useful...

I don't think any work has been done there yet. I can give you a contact person name so you can enquire

thanks for letting me know,
a.

Best,

        Simon.

Hello everyone,
this is a request to people running publicly available sites
using BioMart software. We would be very happy
to provide various pointers to you from www.biomart.org.
BioMart central server not only provides hyperlinks
to various projects using BioMart but also serves as a web service registry for
various third party software such Bioconductor biomaRt
annotation package,Taverna workflow system etc.
In this way you can make your data available to a broader user
community. If you do run such site and you are happy with the idea
please do drop us an email.

thank you,
a.
