you suggestions are valuable and we would improve our docs in due
course.

This is what we are trying to do right now for the release after the
next one. A new application will replace MartEditor and would have
minimal typing and as you suggested, would have drop downs and options
to choose from.

yes, the new changes to martEditor are not officially released on
websites. A little bit of testing to go.
