I seem to remember somebody saying that it was possible to bookmark (or record in some other way) the whole WormMart query. I'm probably missing something obvious, but I cannot find how to do that...

Hi Igor,

There are various solutions, but all have their disadvantages;

Bookmarking any WormMart page saves the current session, which includes the query. This has two problems, 1. the query can be changed within the session and 2. the session expires after a time (about a day).

Alternatively, you can craft a specially-formatted URL that takes you to a given URL. I have found, however, that constructing these URLs is time consuming and error prone. Let me know if you would like the documentation on this.

Finally, the 'XML' button on the WormMart page dumps the current query in XML format. I believe that the BioMart developers are working on a method to load such XML back into WormMart, initialising the query. I am cc'ing the mart-admin list to see if there is any further insight on progress.

All the best,

Will
