Hi,
I am just starting to use Biomart, but I have been having fundamental
issues connecting with it. My goals is to access Ensemble via SOAP using
Biomart, but I can't get a connection. In fact, I almost can't even load pages
from www.biomart.org on my web browser. For most pages, they seem to load after
about 10-30 minutes and other pages, including all the documentation pages I
have tried, never load at all. When I try to access programmatically using SOAP
(C# 3.0 using .NET pointed to http://www.biomart.org/biomart/martwsdl) I get
"unable to connect to remote server" and "timeout" errors even when I set the
timeout to very long times (500 seconds is the longest I have tried).
I have tried pinging www.biomart.org and that seems fine, so I don't
think there is a general connection issue. I can access the biomart at ensembl
through my browser without any issues.
I can't get at the documentation at biomart.org, so I am not really
sure where to start. Can anyone help out with this issue?
