Re: News Updates!

Hello!
You guessed it.Sylvia's back, so the technical assistance required
to get these reports and other bits of info off to you has also returned!
Here is what has transpired so far. On Sept.
1, 2005, Circuit Court Judge Mary Beth Kelly found Jackie Currie guilty of
criminal contempt because she wantonly mailed out absentee ballot
applications when she was ordered not to. This single event has morphed
into a series of court losses, each one more devastating than the one
before, as we work toward cleaning
up this election system. On Tuesday of Oct. 25, Judge Kelly
ordered an injunction against any further election activities performed by
these unsupervised Ambassadors who go and mark ballots. So angry is Jackie
Currie, that her side went into the Appeals Court to file to have that order
reversed. Today, they refused to over turn that ruling. We have several
major victories, but still are far from uncovering the corruption that runs
so deep. There is a major community action in the field with several
hundred community people going door to door asking residents who voted at
the polls to write-in our name on election day. A write-in campaign is
nearly impossible to win, but so enthused are so many people, that I am
compelled to stand with them as we look into a bleak Michigan future.
Lastly, if any of you are interested in getting a civics lesson, Chief
Judge Kelly has scheduled evidentiary hearings next week beginning Monday,
October 31st from 9am-12:30pm in room 701 of the Coleman A. Young Building
(use west side elevators near Woodward). If needed, the hearings will
continue on Tuesday, Nov 1st from 10am-4pm; Wednesday, Nov 2nd from
9am-10:30ish (with a break for participants to attend Rosa Parks' funeral),
resuming around 1pm till 4pm; and Thursday, Nov 3rd from 10am-4pm. If you
have (or know someone with) SPECIFIC and DIRECT experiences with absentee
ballot problems or problems with Elections Ambassadors, please contact me
ASAP!! (313-832-1201, leave a message if I'm not there.)
There are so many things to share with you, and now I can since our
data specialist came home. Hope you are all well.Maureen

P.S. From Sylvia...Hi, everyone! Sorry for the information gap.
For those of you who want more history on what's been going on, here are a
few newspaper and radio links. The Michigan Citizen is always on jam but the
Metro Times has been doing a great job, too, of covering the flavor of this
political and legal drama!
