In addition to my own study guide and materials provided on my web site, another important project, aiming at indiscriminate comprehensiveness, is this invaluable resource:
http://leninist.biz/ Note that this is a comprehensive bibliography in progress of relevant Marxist literature in English mostly from Progress Publishers in the defunct Soviet Union. The aim is to put as many of these books online as possible. The quality and historical relevance obviously varies, so I have repeatedly urged the project's director to concentrate on the most interesting books and not to worry about the hackwork which not even historians would care about. As you can see, my suggestions have only been partially followed; however, I have had input. And some of this material was originally digitized with my site in mind. (You will find ALTERNATIVES TO POSITIVISM on my web site.) The books that have been digitized all have links to them. I note what I consider to me the interesting and noteworthy of the publications digitized so far. * <http://leninist.biz/en/1984/AP469/index.html>Alternatives to Positivism. * <http://leninist.biz/en/1972/CMTTC290/index.html>Critique of Mao Tse-Tung's Theoretical Conceptions., A * <http://leninist.biz/en/1983/FCU180/index.html>Freedom of Conscience in the USSR * <http://leninist.biz/en/1973/FOS375/index.html>Future of Society:, The * <http://leninist.biz/en/1977/GPSPW1PP/index.html>Georgi Plekhanov Selected Philosophical Works (Volume I): * <http://leninist.biz/en/1976/GPSPW2PP/index.html>Georgi Plekhanov Selected Philosophical Works (Volume II): * <http://leninist.biz/en/1976/GPSPW3PP/index.html>Georgi Plekhanov Selected Philosophical Works (Volume III): * <http://leninist.biz/en/1980/GPSPW4PP/index.html>Georgi Plekhanov Selected Philosophical Works (Volume IV): * <http://leninist.biz/en/1981/GPSPW5PP/index.html>Georgi Plekhanov Selected Philosophical Works (Volume V): * <http://leninist.biz/en/1973/HR380/index.html>History of Realism, A * <http://leninist.biz/en/1976/HA242/index.html>Humanism of Art., The * <http://leninist.biz/en/1970/LTRSP88/index.html>Leninist Theory of Revolution and Social Psychology * <http://leninist.biz/en/1980/MP399/index.html>Marxist Philosophy * <http://leninist.biz/en/1976/MLAL268/index.html>Marxist-Leninist Aesthetics and Life * <http://leninist.biz/en/1978/MLP519/index.html>Marxist-Leninist Philosophy * <http://leninist.biz/en/1990/MCS295/index.html>Meaning and Conceptual Systems. * <http://leninist.biz/en/1977/NT228/index.html>Nihilism Today. * <http://leninist.biz/en/1982/ONBP322/index.html>One Is Not Born a Personality. * <http://leninist.biz/en/1975/PS429/index.html>Philosophy & Sociology. * <http://leninist.biz/en/1969/POMA347/index.html>Problems of Modern Aesthetics: * <http://leninist.biz/en/1966/1PRU463/index.html>Psychological Research in USSR: Volume 1 * <http://leninist.biz/en/1979/SPA248/index.html>Semantic Philosophy of Art. * <http://leninist.biz/en/1969/SPTM191/index.html>Sociology: Problems of theory and method. * <http://leninist.biz/en/1977/SOE347/index.html>Sukhomlinsky on Education, V. * <http://leninist.biz/en/1987/WDM326/index.html>What Is Dialectical Materialism? * <http://leninist.biz/en/1987/WHM294/index.html>What is Historical Materialism? The quality of these works listed is also highly uneven. While I generally prefer to leave out mere propaganda and hackwork, I have included a few prominent intros to diamat and histomat, which occasionally have sections of some interest in them. (The last two, though mostly useful as emergency toilet paper, are part of a sizable series of some pedagogical interest.) The project director continues to solicit financial contributions, books, texts, sponsorship and suggestions for digitization. _______________________________________________ Marxism-Thaxis mailing list Marxism-Thaxis@lists.econ.utah.edu To change your options or unsubscribe go to: http://lists.econ.utah.edu/mailman/listinfo/marxism-thaxis
