Thiis, as anyone who has followed the list over he years, is a long-standing tendency related to rushing and the fact that I am better at patiently editing others than at editing myself (not as rare a disability as the completely infallible Louis may think). At any rate, I congratulate our owner and moderator for giving all and any who might fail to express themselves clearly and grammatically in every paragraph of anything they write, especially if they disagree with the owner-moderator and genius-in-residence, clear warning that they should steer clear of the Marxism List,. This can have a progressive impact, regardless of the stand of the Chavez government , which I understand, just as I understand Lenin's decision to turn the whole Ukraine and more over to Germany in the Brest-Litovsk agreement (imagine how many good people suffered as a consequence).. Louis' insistence that this paragraph had something to do with the Cuban revolution is just routine Castro baiting, just as other parts of his response are equally routine US-SWP baiting. Even in the gibberish form I initially submitted, there was no indication that I was discussing Cuba rather than the concession that Venezuela had made on the matter (and Louis is way smart enough to know that even from the initial gibberish form.. But Louis tries to avoid debating me by passing me off as a Castro hand-puppet. In fact Louis never tries to actually take up the ideas anyone - and I do mean anyone, not just me - who disagrees seriously with him. He sneers, he smears, he baits, he misrepresents what others say , he seizes on grammatical mistakes and breakdowns in thought and typing - and other than that he simply has nothing to say. That's not because he is stupid . I am ready to sign a notarized declaration here and now that Louis is smarter than I am. I have no idea why he is so bizarrely (for one of his capacities) incapable of debating his positions civilly with someone who disagrees. For instance, why did he select only that paragraph to challenge? What about all the other paragraphs that expressed ideas he probably deeply disagrees with, the stuff that Dennis and Manuel challenged and also other matters that they did not take up.. He has nothing to say about the politics of what I wrote - only the illiteracy of one paragraph, a completely nonpolitical issue. Why? Despite being raised by a psychoanalyst (which I have come to think may have been a disadvantage), I increasingly have come to realize that I am a dumb-bell who has no clue what realy makes our owner, moderator, and genius-in-residence tick.
