Mariela Castro Espín, director of Cuba's National Sexual Education Center, has just launched a blog on blogspot. Castro Espín has been an outspoken advocate for gays and women. She is the daughter of the late Wilma Espín, a leader of the July 26 Movement underground in Santiago de Cuba and later a guerrilla fighter in the Frank País second front, and Raúl Castro Ruz, president of Cuba.
Her first two posts were a reflection on prostitution after a visit to Amsterdam's red district and a report on a hearing of the Cuban National Assembly's Committee on Education, Culture, Science and Technology held Tuesday, at which, Espín said, the discussion started from race and evolved into a discussion around the intersectionalities oppression.
