Like the British Labour Party, the French Socialist Party and teh Spanish socialist workers Party (!) it's a member of the so-called Socialist International - which is called this because of it's history, even if it's member parties have long abandoned anything resembling what we might consider socialist. Some of us would probably date the definitive setting in of the rot to 1914.
