I guess that he was an informant. But for me the real problem with Rosenfeld's discussion of Aoki is its blurring the lines between informant and provocateur. You are clearly led to believe that Aoki was trying to entrap students even though only implicitly. I would have given anything to see what Aoki had to say about all this if he had lived.
