I believe the best response to the question "What went wrong with the Soviet Union" is "What went wrong with the rest of the world? Why didn't it emulate and improve on the Soviet revolution, to show what socialism was capable of in more industrially advanced countries?" isn't the best criticism to show how it should have been done?
