No shit. That applies to a huge amount of the media coverage of emerging technology or science...for large-scale production it will always be more cost effective to make a mold for the

"Always" is a very big word. But "emerging" technology, by definition, has yet fully to emerge. To use absolute language like "always" or "never" in any reference involving it is like saying that a [female] chick pecking its way through the shell will never produce any eggs.
But, allowed to live, it will.  Just give it enough time!
