The Communist Party of Great Britain is not a party out of the old-time Moscow network but a tiny propaganda group mostly organized around the goal of being the SWP's gadfly. For reasons never fully made clear to me, they adopted this tarnished brand name. Using the brand name of a bankrupt company can sometimes make sense, such as when a cheap computer manufacturer adopted Stromberg-Carlson in the 1980s, the brand name of a luxury radio from the 40s and 50s that had gone out of business.
They have published many useful articles on what Bolshevism really meant and provided a platform for Lars Lih, but their understanding of these issues is compromised by their hammer-and-sickle fetishism, etc.
There's an article in their latest newspaper which takes on something they see as a problem, namely the assault on the far left by "feminists" who are exploiting the SWP misdeeds in order to promote an agenda that ostensibly serves the big bourgeoisie.
These words really sickened me: "Rape - and domestic violence - are not conducted, by and large, by people who explicitly hold women in contempt,"
